PROJECTS
My first two solos, "From Within" and "Song without Words" were published by Music for Brass. This milestone led to a brief period of studying composition with Philip Wilby at Leeds University. Following this, Wright and Round published my arrangement of "Autumn" by Chaminade for solo euphonium and brass band, and subsequently, an arrangement of "Simple Gifts" for brass ensemble.
During the mid-90s, while working at Barnsley College on the BA Hons Brass Band course, I had the opportunity to work with and accompany many prolific brass players. During this time, I composed a series of brass solos and self-published them under the name Grand Fromage. In 1998, Harlequin Brass of Sheffield ran a composition competition, and I achieved second place. As part of the prize, my original 10-piece ensemble work "Fanfare Chorus and Hymn" was performed at Sheffield Cathedral for the inauguration of the Archbishop of Sheffield in January 1998.
I have continued to self-publish under the name Grand Fromage, composing and arranging brass solos, 10-piece arrangements, and original works, as well as songs and arrangements for schools and choirs
